Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

Sermons

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Worship & Amp40

At Valley, we encourage families to worship together. During the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at the Avon Campus, we offer the following programming to facilitate family worship.

  • Nursery - Kindergarten will be provided for the entire time of each service.

  • Children and students in Grades 1-8 will now join their family for a time of corporate worship. Parents may choose to keep their child in the service or send them to Amp40 (40 minutes of age-specific teaching while the sermon is being preached). Before the sermon begins, there will be a dismissal time for children and students to attend Amp40.

    • Grades 1-5: children who attend Amp40 will be in graded classes looking at the big picture of God’s story from Genesis to Revelation and seeing how they fit in it.

    • Grades 6-8 (9:30 a.m. service only): students who attend Amp40 will participate in a middle school teaching environment where students will connect with each other and discuss relevant issues in the context of biblical teaching.

  • High school students are transitioning into adulthood and will stay in the entire service. There will still be time through the week for them to worship and fellowship with their peers.

Community, Serving & Amp70

We encourage families to stay for a second hour on Sundays to meet with a Community or serve in some capacity. For the children of those families, Amp70 is 70 minutes of age-appropriate teaching and fellowship during an entire service. Amp70 is designed for children and students Grades 1-8.

  • Children in Grades 1-5 will attend Amp70 classes consisting of combined grades.  The children will study a biblical topic for a month at a time, learning how to apply the truth to their everyday lives.

  • Students in Grades 6-8 (9:30 a.m. service only) can attend Amp70 where they will connect with peers and leaders while engaging in deeper study of the Word at their level.

  • Students in Grades 9-12 We offer breakfast, electives, service opportunities and large group teaching series. You don't want to miss out on any of those!
