Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Worship Service Times & Styles

We worship together on Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m in the Sanctuary in Avon. There's also a service at 10:30 a.m. at the Avon Campus in The Venue. There are communal dinners on most Saturday and Tuesday evenings at the Avon Campus. We also meet as small groups and classes throughout the week.  We look forward to meeting you.

Avon: 590 West Avon Road, Avon, Connecticut. Get directions and contact information.

Bristol: 718 Pine Street, Bristol Connecticut. We meet at Greene-Hills School in Bristol.

Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Christmas Eve at Valley

We hope you, your family, and friends will make plans to join us at one of our four all-church Christmas Eve services at Valley Avon. The schedule is below. Our "Christmas at Valley" page is coming soon!

All Christmas Eve services will be in the Sanctuary. Our "overflow" room will be The Venue, which will live-stream the services and be properly decorated for the occasion!

FAMILY SERVICES: 1:30 and 3 p.m.

Pastor Mark Woof will lead these family-friendly Christmas Eve services, including a special kid-friendly message and lots of familiar holiday music for all ages to sing. All those young and restless are invited; these services are a bit noisy and a lot of fun! There is childcare available during these services.

Senior Pastor Jay Abramson leads these joyous and reflective Christmas Eve services, featuring the heart of the Christmas story and traditional carols and music. Childcare for kids 3 and under is available.

You're invited to a worship service featuring traditional Christmas music and Scripture readings (no sermon), an event suitable for Valley attendees and guests! “A Thrill of Hope” will feature a full orchestra, choirs, handbells, and your voices. There will be two services on Sunday, December 15, 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Two important notes about ticketing: Tickets are free, but there is a limit of five tickets per email address. Please note that you MUST arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the service to guarantee a seat in the Sanctuary. If you arrive after that point, you may be seated in The Venue, where we hold weekly worship services. Here you would enjoy large screens and excellent sound.

Anyone can join the Valley Prayer Force! We're inviting all attendees to use our Prayer Force Journal to record your prayers and help you listen to God's responses. You can join at any time. Pick up a journal in the Welcome Area before or after a worship service.

Jay Abramson announced in February that God is making it clear it's time for him to start a new phase of ministry. After nearly 30 years in ministry at Valley Community Baptist Church, including 25 years as Senior Pastor, he announced that he would be retiring in 2020.

The Senior Pastor transition process has begun and is going well. Read all about the background and next steps at our Senior Pastor Transition page.
