Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Children & Students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Care Ministry Service

At Valley, we have many opportunities for you to care for others.

Faithful Hands

Faithful Hands seeks to minister the love of Christ to the elderly, single mothers or any other person needing help, first in our church, and then reaching into our community. We seek to use good works in an open-ended commitment so that we come to understand each individual person in need deeply and profoundly and so that we guarantee that their needs will be met. We meet in Room 206 the second Saturday of every month at 6:45 a.m. for one hour to connect with team members, build relationships and review lists of work items. We spend two hours with our care receivers, developing a caring relationship through prayer and assisting with household and/or yard projects. For more information, contact Pastor Steve Johnson.

Meal Ministry Team

Do you love to cook, and to bless others through meals? We are developing a new team to prepare and deliver meals to people experiencing health crises. To volunteer or learn more about this creative and fun way to encourage and bless others, contact Laura Costley.

Extended Hands

Extended Hands is a women’s care ministry run by women for women.  The Extended Hands volunteers will help women organize their homes during times when they feel overwhelmed due to a major life event (i.e. illness, loss of a loved one, divorce) .  This ministry is not meant be ongoing house cleaning, but will focus on helping to organize to make the home life run more smoothly and efficiently and will offer spiritual support.  A volunteer team will typically help a care receiver once per month on a Saturday for approximately 2 hours for 2-3 months. If you would like more information, contact Laura Costley.

Care Ministry

This ministry (formerly Stephen Ministry) is a lay ministry program that equips people to provide Christian care to those experiencing all kinds of life needs and circumstances. Through a confidential one-on-one caring relationship with a trained care ministry volunteer of the same gender, someone experiencing challenging times can receive the love, care and support that they need. For more information, contact Laura Costley.
