Welcome

Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Worship Service Times & Styles

Each weekend, there are six worship services in two locations: Sundays at 10 a.m. at Greene-Hills School in Bristol. Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 8, 9:30, and 11:15 a.m in the Sanctuary in Avon. There's also a service at 11:15 a.m. at the Avon Campus in The Venue. There are communal dinners on most Saturday and Tuesday evenings at the Avon Campus. We also meet as small groups and classes throughout the week.  We look forward to meeting you.

Bristol: 718 Pine Street, Bristol Connecticut. We meet at Greene-Hills School in Bristol.

Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

Sermons

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Final Week! Deadline is Sunday, May 7

Welcome to the 2017 Valley Congregational Survey. If one sentence is plenty of introduction and you're ready to dive in (and you're at least 15 years old), just click here to take the online survey. The user name is VCBCCong. The password is VCBCCong. (So nice we used it twice.)

Note for Valley Bristol Attenders: After the question asking which campus you attend (Bristol), there's a follow-up about which Avon service you attend. Because all questions require an answer, please just pick 8 a.m. Saturday and we will filter those when analyzing the results. Thanks for participating!

If you're still with us, here are a few questions you might have before embarking on your 20-minute survey adventure:

Why are we doing this?

We want to collect data to help shape our ministry in the years to come. The tree-top questions we're trying to answer include: How are we doing at Valley? What are we doing well? What do we need to improve? Do church leadership and the congregation see the same strengths and improvement areas? There are several other questions this survey may help answer -- if we get enough participation. We hope you will assist us!

HOW WILL IT WORK?

Each person 15 and older who calls Valley their home church is eligible to take the survey. Just click on the link above or in the box on the right. The survey is hosted and run by CHAT (Church Health Assessment Tool), which will also help us analyze the results. Learn more about CHAT here. For those who don't have online access, printed copies of the survey will be available in the Welcome Areas at Avon and Bristol.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE I START?

The most important aspect is to answer each question honestly and quickly. Your "gut reaction" to a question is probably the most accurate. If you're unsure about the meaning of a question, there are "I don't know" responses available. The majority of the questions are from CHAT and are universal for all churches taking the assessment. A few of the questions are Valley-specific.

what's the timeline, and what happens next?

The survey will be open until Sunday, May 7. We will share takeaways with the congregation after CHAT has analyzed the results. The goal is to turn those takeaways into action steps as we head into 2018. Your survey will make a difference! The more people who participate, the more accurate the results, and the more meaningful the action steps. Your thoughts matter! We hope you will share them.

WAIT: you didn't answer my question here.

No sweat. Email Communications Director Mike Guersch with your survey question or any other feedback about the process.
