Sermon Series: "Outcasts"

This five-week biblical journey highlights different examples from the book of Luke that illustrate what it means to pursue the "outcasts" among us in our city. Throughout this series, we will look at valuing the lost like Jesus did: Zacchaeus, the woman who anointed Jesus' feet, a leper, and the thief on the cross. In each instance, we will see that Jesus goes out of His way to reach the outcasts of society, and that Jesus wants us to go out of our way to reach the outcasts in our city too.

We'll gather at 9:45 a.m. for our 10 a.m. service this Sunday at Greene-Hills School in Bristol.

Sermon Series: "Soul Activity"

Jesus tells believers that the Greatest Commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. In fact, this is also Jesus' definition of a growing disciple. Our five-week "Soul Activity" series examined what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, and how our relationship with God directly affects each of these areas of our life.

This series will also demonstrate the danger of of idolatry -- that our souls dedicate our motivations to God, that our minds are centered on God the Father, and that our strength is put to effective use through generous serving of the people of our city,

Join Us This Week

SUNDAY | 10 a.m. | Greene-Hills School  |  718 Pine St.  |  Bristol, CT

Yeah, our Bristol Campus church meets in a gym. Sound strange? Perhaps, but we're informal, authentic, and just trying to keep it real. Just like you. We have no pews, no hymnals, no steeples. We're a bunch of people getting together and getting closer to God through the Bible. As one of our new attendees said: "Valley is refreshingly modern, relaxed, and welcoming of everyone -- imperfections and all." So join us this week at Greene-Hills School in Bristol, Connecticut, even if you're not so much about this whole church thing. We believe God has a plan for you. There's a chair awaiting you in our gym.

What about my kids?

Our trained and background-checked volunteer teachers and helpers offer a great Children's Ministry program at our Bristol Campus. We offer age-appropriate learning environments for the smallest of babies up through fifth grade. Dedicated teachers for newborns/walkers, 2s and 3s, and Pre-K / Kindergartners will be ready for your children starting at 9:45 a.m.

Your first- through fifth-grader will enjoy some great music and prayer at the beginning of the service, then they will head over to their communities (or, if you prefer of course, they can stay for the message). We also have a Middle School Ministry during that time. If you have children in fifth grade or younger, allow yourself a few extra minutes so you can check them in if they're attending one of our terrific Children's Ministry areas. If you have questions about our children's programs, please contact Paul Semanski by email or at 860.673.6826 x113.

What should I expect? What should I wear?

We believe that every Sunday should start with a smile. Our experienced Welcome Desk volunteers are there to make sure you know where to go. If you have children, check them in, and then follow the crowd down to the school gym. Wear something totally comfortable or your "Sunday Best" -- doesn't matter to us! Your wardrobe, church background or politics don't matter to us. We're here to grow deeper in God and worship Jesus.

Our campus leaders will gather all of us together and launch us into a time of praise and prayer. You can sing along with the live band or just consider the words on the screen. We'll have an offering time, but if you're visiting please just pass the plate on -- you're our guest and there's no pressure to do anything. We just invite you to have an open heart and consider what God might be saying to you on any given Sunday (or any day!).

After the service, there is a time of fellowship and community right there in the gym. Our staff and leaders would love to meet you and say hi. Don't forget to pick up your kids first!
