Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Worship Service Times & Styles

Each weekend, there are six worship services in two locations: Sundays at 10 a.m. at Greene-Hills School in Bristol. Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 8, 9:30, and 11:15 a.m in the Sanctuary in Avon. There's also a service at 11:15 a.m. at the Avon Campus in The Venue. There are communal dinners on most Saturday and Tuesday evenings at the Avon Campus. We also meet as small groups and classes throughout the week.  We look forward to meeting you.

Avon: 590 West Avon Road, Avon, Connecticut. Get directions and contact information.

Bristol: 718 Pine Street, Bristol Connecticut. We meet at Greene-Hills School in Bristol.

Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

Valley Bristol

"Pre-Easter Party" March 25

It's an Easter Egg Hunt and more! After our Palm Sunday Service on March 25, stick around for the Valley Bristol "Pre-Easter Party" right here at Greene-Hills. We'll have a BBQ lunch, a full Easter egg hunt, and other family "egg-tivities" to kick off the week. Also, our Valley kids will be helping to lead worship in the service! They've been practicing hard on Sundays, so bring your hearts and your cameras! No RSVP required. Please pick up an invitation this Sunday and share with a friend or neighbor.

Easter Sunday is April 1: No Fooling!

On a day usually known for tricks, deception, and jokes, we'll be celebrating the great truth that God has a plan for each of us -- that there IS purpose in our lives. If you're not sure, just swing by and check it out. We promise: No tricks. No deception. No fooling!

Join our Valley Bristol Easter Celebration on Sunday, April 1, at 10 a.m. at Greene-Hills School.

New Wednesday Gathering Place

After The Hub was flooded, we've been looking for another place for midweek ministry. We're delighted to announce that we have a temporary solution! Valley will be using facilities at Hillside Community Church in Bristol for our Wednesday night ministry.

Every other Wednesday, beginning March 14, this will be the place for Valley Bristol Students to gather. Other Valley Bristol ministry could also happen at Hillside on Wednesdays. If you have an idea, contact Bristol Campus Director Paul Semanski.

We're thankful for answered prayers regarding a replacement for The Hub and pray that our student ministry will continue to thrive in this new location.

Hillside Community Church is at 435 Broad St. in Bristol.

Join Us This Week

SUNDAY | 10 a.m. | Greene-Hills School  |  718 Pine St.  |  Bristol, CT

Yeah, our Bristol Campus church meets in a gym. Sound strange? Perhaps, but we're informal, authentic and just trying to keep it real. Just like you. We have no pews, no hymnals, no steeples. We're a bunch of people getting together and getting closer to God through the Bible. As one of our new attendees said: "Valley is refreshingly modern, relaxed, and welcoming of everyone -- imperfections and all." So join us this week at Greene-Hills School in Bristol, Connecticut, even if you're not so much about this whole church thing. We believe God has a plan for you. There's a chair awaiting you in our gym.

What about my kids?

Our trained and background-checked volunteer teachers and helpers offer a great Children's Ministry program at our Bristol Campus. We offer age-appropriate learning environments for the smallest of babies up through fifth grade. Dedicated teachers for newborns/walkers, 2s and 3s, and Pre-K / Kindergartners will be ready for your children starting at 9:45 a.m.

Your first- through fifth-grader will enjoy some great music and prayer at the beginning of the service, then they will head over to their communities (or, if you prefer of course, they can stay for the message). We also have a Middle School Ministry during that time. If you have children in fifth grade or younger, allow yourself a few extra minutes so you can check them in if they're attending one of our terrific Children's Ministry areas. If you have questions about our children's programs, please contact Paul Semanski by email or at 860.673.6826 x113.

What should I expect? What should I wear?

We believe that every Sunday should start with a smile. Our experienced Welcome Desk volunteers are there to make sure you know where to go. If you have children, check them in, and then follow the crowd down to the school gym. Wear something totally comfortable or your "Sunday Best" -- doesn't matter to us! Your wardrobe, church background or politics don't matter to us. We're here to grow deeper in God and worship Jesus.

Our campus leaders will gather all of us together and launch us into a time of praise and prayer. You can sing along with the live band or just consider the words on the screen. We'll have an offering time, but if you're visiting please just pass the plate on -- you're our guest and there's no pressure to do anything. We just invite you to have an open heart and consider what God might be saying to you on any given Sunday (or any day!).

After the service, there is a time of fellowship and community right there in the gym. Our staff and leaders would love to meet you and say hi. Don't forget to pick up your kids first!
